Obituary of Ida Merritt
Ida Merritt June 26, 1938 - Dec 25, 2022
Ida was received by Angels in heaven on Jesus Christ's birth and welcomed by her husband and preceding family.
Ida lived a full life, and was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved God first then her husband of 61 years Earl B Merritt who preceded her. She had three children, her daughter Lynnette Barnard, her son Ken Merritt (Trudy) their girls Crystal Garnet (Jesse) Josia & Hadasha. April Cleaveland (Mark) their children Zander, Colton & Presley.
Ida's last baby was Lianne Rae Monreal & her family Lacey Merritt, her kids Chloe Segura & Desiel Segura. Jon Carlos {JC} Monreal (Caitlin – baby girl on way) & Manual {Skeeter} Monreal.
Ida had a tough upbringing and suffered through with her 3 sisters Glenda, Viv and Liz and 1 brother Al.
Determined to have a better life she Married Earl at 17 and raised her children with Love. Many years she was a stay-at-home Mom that made Animal shaped pancakes, waffles and sewed Barbie doll clothes, as well as many of our school clothes, then fancy dresses we needed for Rainbow Girls. Later she worked at Motorola, Chamber of Commerce, Credit Union and then Hughes/Raytheon where she retired in 1994.
She Loved sending Christmas cards to loved ones scattered around the country and was tickled and proudly hung the cards and pictures she received back.
Ida would say she "didn't do" those new-fangled techno things like TV remotes, Phone setup, etc. But when she got a super tech Sewing machine, she ran it like a Pro! Then made quilts for all the kids and grands, made decorated towel, changed plain T-shirts into decorated Art, this kept her busy and Happy for years.
In recent years she would randomly call family & friends, to stay in touch, always wanting to know what they were doing. Watching the birds they fed outside on the porch, loving their rescue cats play, as they played and stalked the birds they couldn’t get to.
Ida was Ready to go to God and become our Angel to watch over all of us! God Bless her Soul!
