Obituary of Ann Beatrice Lanoue Healy Wood
Ann Beatrice Lanoue Healy Wood, aka Sugar Lanoue, passed away on January 14, 2024, at her home in Tucson, AZ at the age of 83. She was born November 10, 1940, in Brockton, Massachusetts to her beloved parents, Rose Gertrude Lanoue and L. Merrill Lanoue both of whom have preceded her in death. She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Endow, Elaine “Amanda” Healy, and Maureen Brusa Zappellini. Ann also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sydney Endow, Joanna Endow, and Cosmo Brusa Zappellini, and her great-grandchild, Penelope Rodridguez. She is survived by her siblings Marilyn Johnson, Jeanne Cobb, and Richard Lanoue as well as her former spouses Denis F Healy and R. Craig Wood. Ann lived in Massachusetts, Ohio, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island before moving to Tucson, Arizona in 2016.
Ann attended L’Ecole de Sacre Coeur and was a graduate of Brockton High School in 1959. She graduated from Forsyth Dental School in Boston Massachusetts with a degree in dental hygiene and later earned a degree in Health Administration from the University of New Hampshire. Ann worshipped at the Barrington Congregational Church in Barrington, Rhode Island.
Ann was a vibrant, fun, and feisty woman who enjoyed being active in grassroots politics, and community service and dedicated babysitter for several families in her church and community. Ann delighted in attending theater and sporting events. Above all, she enjoyed celebrating holidays with her friends and family.
A Celebration of Life event is being planned, details to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association
