Obituary of Shirley Vlearbone Garrity

Shirley Vlearbone Garrity, born April 16, 1935, in Scranton, PA, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2024.

Survived by her son, Scott R. Vlearbone, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Rae Richards, 3 sisters, and first husband L. Irvin (Bud) Vlearbone Jr., and second husband, Francis J. (Bud) Garrity Jr. 

Shirley moved to Tucson in 1968 and graduated from the University of Arizona in December of 1977. She was an accountant at different companies and taught at Pima Community College. She always wanted to teach and enjoyed it for 5 1/2 years. She and her second Bud traveled the country for a number of years in their RV, finally spending their summers in Coos Bay, Oregon, and winters in Tucson. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
